Sushma monitoring Saudi crisis |
India`s External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj said that the government has taken the issue of food shortage faced by nearly 10,000 Indians rendered jobless in Saudi Arabia very seriously and she is personallny monitoring the crisis.She also said that minister of state for external affairs VK Singh will visit Saudi Arabia on Aug 2. She regretted that the companies have shut their factories and left. So, India has asked the foreign office to authorize India to bring them from Saudi Arabia. Since their payments are also due. So, Sushma has aked the labour office that each one of them will sign a contract. Before the company pays the government`s (Saudi Arabia) dues, they should first pay these workers.She said all the formalities will be completed once VK Singh reaches Riyadh.The workers have been laid off by Saudi Oger, a leading Saudi construction company following the slowdown in the Saudi construction industry due to the fall in global crude oil prices.
