PIOCCI concerned over US shootings |
People of Indian Origin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PIOCCI) denounces yet another murder of an Indian in the United States. Growing incidence of hate crimes against Indians in the US is a matter of grave concern. PIOCCI appeals to President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reach out to the people of Indian origin in the US and allay their fears to their life and limb.Indian leadership must impress upon the US Administration to take such measures that restore the waning confidence of the Indian diaspora in the United States on the issue of their safety and security.Barely 10 days ago, an Indian professional was brutally gunned down for being an Indian in Kansas. Days later, President Trump had unequivocally condemned the killing. Obviously, such condemnation has not been enough to stop further killings. Before we lose more innocents to racist attacks against Indians, PIOCCI earnestly appeals to the US Administration to take effective remedial measures in the interest of cordial relationship between the governments and the people of the United States and India. PIOCCI expresses grief and stands with the families to share their loss. PIOCCI appeals to the Indian entrepreneurs and the rest of people of Indian origin to express solidarity and reach out to bereaved families in their hour of grief.
