No Indian city in Top 10 |
A dismal report on India`s status in the world`s growth chart as no city figured in the Top 10 or even Top 15 category. The Brookings Institution`s 2014 Global Metro Monitor Map that measures and compares growth patterns in the world`s 300 largest metro economies puts Delhi at 18th place, followed by Kolkata (32), Mumbai (52) Chennai (57) Hyderabad (76) and Bengaluru (87). The Top 100 is dominated by Chinese cities. Meanwhile, another report says India is where more bombs are exploding each year. In 2014, India witnessed 190 IED explosions, putting it just behind Pakistan and Iraq in the list of countries worst affected by bomb blasts. VIPs continue to clamor for security but they make only 3% of the target as compared to the general public which accounts for 54% of blast targets. Maoists continue to remain the biggest enemy of the state executing more than 50% of the blasts followed by Northeast insurgents accounting for 30% of the explosions.
