More Indians to US, Europe |
America may have enhanced the screening of incoming tourists at its airports but that is not deterring Indians from going there this summer. Travel portal Yatra reported a "100% increase in Indians looking to travel to the US since last year". This spike comes along with "208% increase in Indians travelling to Europe after Brexit." Yatra found over 80% Indians are opting to reduce the number of days to travel and compromise on accomodation. It is very encouraging to see that the number of people taking a holiday during summer is increasing year-on-year. In fact, the portal adds that luxury travel has witnessed a rise with 48% Indians willing to spend more than Rs 50,000 per person on travel this summer versus 18% last year.Desktops and laptops continued to be the preferred medium of booking and a significant 40% respondents booked tickets via mobile, indicating an increasing shift towards smartphones and internet. Also, nearly 80% Indians prefer to book their travel through online travel portals.
