Kejriwal under attack |
With chikungunya and dengue deaths in the national capital on the rise, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government in Delhi has come under severe opposition attack. As the number of deaths due to chikungunya rose to three on Sep 13 , the Congress and the BJP attacked the Kejriwal government for doing little. There was no fumigation this time in the city. If the government doesn`t fulfil responsibility how will it work" wondered former Delhi CM and Congress leader Sheila Dikshit.The BJP, meanwhile, questioned the absence of Kejriwal and his top ministers from the national capital during a crisis like this one. The Centre is also reviewing the situation on a day-to-day basis and a meeting has been called on Sep 14 morning The Centre has sent 11 advisories since January to the state government to take precautionary measures in chikungunya cases. The Union health minister urged residents to increase their liquid intake and to not panic. Instead, he advised them to get treated the minute they see any symptoms.
