India Association of Greater Boston, a non-profitcommunity organization that has served the local Indian community for over 50 years, made history with a massive participation in the election of the its executive committee, and elected Jaya Voruganti as its new president for a two year-term.Praveena Naduthota was elected as Vice President unopposed. Also elected unopposed were Pravin Mundkur as Secretary and Sanjay Gowda astreasurer. In the past, presidents were elected unopposed during the last 20 years or so. Voruganti said besides setting up Culture Committee and Fund Raising Committee, she would like to set-up the by-laws committee, out-reach committee (to unite Indian organizations of Greater Boston, and feasibility study to organize a parade through Boston. In an email interview with INDIA New England News before the election,Voruganti had said that IAGB needs to resume and expand its activities. (IAGB) also held election for its 15-member Board of Directors who along with the four office bearers, serve as the decision-making Executive Committee.
