Indian hypermaket in Malaysia |
NRI-owned LuLu Group, one of the largest retail chains in the Middle East, has opened its first hypermarket in Malaysia as part of its plan to invest $300 million in the Southeast Asian country. LuLu Group chairman Yusuff Ali MA said with the $300 million in the first phase, they plan to open 10 hypermarkets by end-2021 and a central logistics and warehousing facility in Malaysia. These projects are likely to generate more than 5,000 job opportunities for Malaysians. The 250,000 square feet hypermarket was inaugurated by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.
