India pulls out 5600 from Yemen |
India finally concluded `Operation Rahat` to rescue its citizens from strife torn Yemen nation in West Asia, pulling out nearly 5,600 persons. Among the last few to leave Yemen, was a 6-day-old Parvathi, the youngest Indian to be evacuated. Battling jaundice and severe respiratory problems, the infant was flown out from battle-scarred Sana`a to Djibouti in an Air India flight, and from there finally to Kochi, she was brought in an IAF C-17. Doctors in India, many of them overwhelmed at what they witnessed, said it was nothing short of a miracle. Kept in an incubator, the baby`s condition throughout the journey was supervised by Dr Uma Nambiar, a doctor working in Djibouti for the last two years and an adviser to Djibouti ministry of health.
