Give Trump a chance |
It`s not whether USA President Donald Trump will make history, but what`s shrouded in much speculation is how he will chart the future. Protests are symbolic of humungous public stance on issues that have defined a progressive world in and outside the USA, including in an ancient India with its supposedly closed traditions. India and its nationalists are however experimenting with breaking the shackles of for example caste and creed reservations that haunt promoting talent and merit that alone guarantee productive development. If Mr Trump befriends Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the world should be glad that two fervent nationalists would come together to meet the scourge of terrorism, and Shri Modi ji could share his learning curve of running a federal democracy for the first time by virtue of his 2 1/2 years of ruling India. Mr Trump must already be stumped by the historic and biggest ever march across the world by women and liberals. Yet, merely dismissing him as gone before having really started will not work. USA policies cannot be oblivious of the daunting challenges of the entire world of our times. Negotiation and survival instincts and tactics are natural to Mr Trump. There`s still hope that the White House life will influence him to keep his eyes and ears tuned.
