Finally India own fighter jet |
India`s Defense R&D establishment says it is now at the final stage to get the Tejas light combat aircraft going. It is still not fully operational or combat ready. Tens of Billions of Dollars and more than three decades later, the Narendra Modi government will critically re-examine the entire project. Tejas, in fact, may even get some competition in the light-weight fighter category. Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar said some other single-engine, lighter fighter other than the home-grown Tejas could also be considered for a `Make in India` project to replace the obsolete MiG-21s.
