Delhi HC notice to PK on plagiarism |
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan`s `PK` is in controversy again. Delhi High Court has issued notice to directors and producers of film based on a novelist`s plea alleging plagiarism his novel released in 2013. Author Kapil Isapuri, whose novel `Farishta` was released in 2013, claimed he had seen the film on January 1 and found that certain portions of it had been plagiarised from his book. The novel had criticized the blind following of so-called god men and implied the profession of religion is not natural but man-made and artificial. He also claimed that various other issues raised by the film have been copied from his book. The novel has several such situations which are said to have been very cleverly copied by the defendants in the film by making minor changes and insignificant variations, the petition claimed. Isapuri has sought Rs 1 crore in damages from producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Director Raj Kumar Hirani, their respective production companies as well as scriptwriter Abhijat Joshi.
