BJP promises world class Delhi |
The Bharatiya Janata Party on February 3 released its `vision document` by promising to turn the Capital of India, New Delhi, into a `world-class city` but was silent on the statehood issue. Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said its government in Delhi will be transparent and completely corruption free. Earlier, the second major party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in its 70-point manifesto promised to put pressure on the Centre to grant statehood to Delhi while the Congress has kept silent on the issue. The February 7 polls are extremely important and will decide the direction Delhi takes. The BJP also promised cheap electricity, resolve water issues, solve traffic problems and provide 100,000 homes to the middle-class. Union minister Harsh Vardhan, who headed the committee which worked on the vision document, and several other leaders were also present during the release.
