BJP not to blink on Land Bill |
President of India has approved the re-promulgation of the land acquisition ordinance. At the national executive meeting of the ruling BJP party in Bengaluru, the mood is of aggression and not to let up on the fight in Parliament to get the Land Acquisition Bill passed even if with a few changes. PM Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah reiterated they won`t give up. Shah accused rivals of spreading falsehoods and emphasized that the legislation was pro-farmer. Shah asked party workers to go to the people to counter the negative campaign being mounted by the opposition parties. BJP is also reeling under the big loss in Delhi Assembly elections, but the meeting`s mood is to dismiss the debacle as part of a learning curve and a minor setback in the grand scheme of things. Meanwhile, Shah sounded the bugle on Bihar where assembly polls are due later in 2015. He called Nitish Kumar government as `Jungle Raj –II` after a similar rule under the RJD leaders Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi.
