Bengaluru to host PBD next year |
The next edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), the annual gathering of Non-Resident Indians and People of Indian Origin settled abroad, will be held in Bengaluru from January 7 to 9. This was announced by Karnataka Industries and Tourism Minister R V Deshpande.At least 3,000 delegates from various countries will be invited.External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate an interaction programme for the youth of Indian origin on the first day and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on January 8.Deshpande said the state government is proud to play host to such a prestigious international event after successfully holding the Global Investors Meet.However, the venue is yet to be finalised.
