AAP internal truce; to go national |
The Aam Aadmi Party has said it is going national and will expand its base, a key demand of rebel leader Yogendra Yadav. This issue had split the party and pitted Yadav and senior colleague Prashant Bhushan against the party Convener Arvind Kejriwal. Signs of reconciliation between the warring factions emerged March 17 as the party`s political affairs committee met at the home of Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, who returned to the city after his naturopathy treatment for diabetes and asthma. The meeting concluded with senior leader Sanjay Singh saying that the AAP spectacular victory in Delhi and seeing the love of the people had made them decided to expand at the national level. The AAP is also expected to take a decision on contesting elections outside Delhi, which Yadav and party volunteers have been demanding. The party will enroll active volunteers and form a committee to decide their role in states.
