Sensex, Nifty close at fresh highs |
Riding on the back of strong global markets and an early onset of monsoon, Sensex and Nifty in India continued to trade bullish and both the indices closed at fresh highs on June 2 after a four day-consolidation. When market closed, Sensex had risen 135.70 points to close at 31,273.29 and Nifty settled above 9,650 for first time to finish at 9,653.50, up by 37.40 points. This was after the indices had hit intra-day highs of 31,333 and 9,674 in BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty respectively. Hero MotoCorp and Cipla gained the most on both indices while GAIL, Tata Steel, and BPCL were the top losers.
