Over 130 offers were made by recruiters at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, on the first day of placements. Over a 100 more were made on day two, said a statement from IIT-Delhi`s Training and Placement Cell, and over 20 students bagged international offers in the two days. The offers on the first day were made by "large organisations including a few major consulting firms, financial firms, core engineering firms, startups, IT companies as well as a large government undertaking."There were 110 pre-placement offers — typically based on internships — of which 70 were accepted. Over 10 students also opted for the deferred placement programme — an option made available by the institute to encourage startups. But students have to apply for it and go through a rigourous screening process before they are accepted."Over 270 organisations across sectors offering over 400 jobs have already registered for placements in the coming days. The T & P Cell is in talks with many others who would be registering," said the statement.
