India Africa Day Gala 2016-I |
The India Africa Day Gala 2016 marked the Africa Day in India on 22nd April 2016 at the NDMC lawns adjacent to Nehru Park in New Delhi. The celebration followed a very successful and the biggest-ever India Africa Forum Summit III (IAFS III) in October 2015 in Delhi. India’s Honourable Minister of External Affairs Mrs. Sushma Swaraj acknowledged Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s deep commitment to India expanding the India-Africa relationship. The event was co-hosted by the Association of Spouses of African Heads of Missions in Delhi (ASAHOM) and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC. It was an amazing gathering of Africans and Indians, with scintillating efforts by women, children, diplomats, Indian Diaspora, artists, businesses, bureaucrats and more. Indian charities supported by ASAHOM benefit from net proceeds of the event. ASAHOM is a diplomatic organization of spouses of High Commissioners and Ambassadors of all 54 African nations. ASAHOM draws full support of all African Heads of Missions. The event was organized by Munish Gupta, Chairman of PIO TV, President of India Africa Business Development Forum (IABDF) and Chairman of PIO Services Pvt. Ltd., an Indian Diaspora leader setting up the first private university starting with a medical college in East Africa.
